Meet Lucas: The Hands Behind Our Craft
Lucas is my cousin, my older cousin, and that’s not a minor detail. I grew up listening to my mom talk about her brother with admiration: how creative he was, his inventor’s spirit, and how talented he was with his hands. And in many ways, I felt the same about Lucas when I was a kid.
We didn’t see each other often, but every visit felt epic. His house was a world of incredible toys, from crane systems built with Meccano to science kits that let us do fun experiments, usually leaving my aunt’s kitchen a complete mess.
As a child, I saw Lucas as a creative genius who shared my passion for inventing and creating without limits. When CASIA was born, it felt like we were getting to play together again.
Today, we want to introduce you to Lucas. He’s the one behind the making of most of our pieces, the one who, with patience and precision, brings every stitch to life.
Lucas studied and trained as a pattern maker, later specializing in leather craftsmanship. That’s where he found his true language: working with leather, tools, and patterns and paying attention to the tiniest of details. He’s meticulous, observant, and has an incredible ability to solve, improve, and find new ways to do things. |

Leather captivated him from the beginning. He says it’s a noble material, full of character, one that you have to learn to listen to and respect. And watching him work proves it—every movement, every cut or stitch, is made with intention and care.

What he loves most about leather is that it has memory. Each piece is unique, with its own texture, marks, and story. Working with it is a constant challenge because there’s no room for error. A misplaced stitch or a wrong cut means starting all over again.

Casia was built from that same spirit: to make less, but better.
With intention, with respect for the people who make our pieces and for those who wear them.
In a world that pushes for fast, mass production, we choose the opposite: to create with our hands, at our own pace, and with care. There is something deeply human about craftsmanship—something that simply can’t be rushed. |

As the founder of CASIA, I believe it’s essential to work with people who understand the craft, who respect the time each piece requires, and who share our desire to make products that are beautiful, functional, unique, and built to last.
